Remembrance Sunday services will take place across Kingston borough on 8 November 2026, with different procession times in Kingston town centre, New Malden, Surbiton and Chessington.

Anyone attending should check the arrangements for their chosen location. Some processions begin well before 11am, and parking suspensions affect roads used by the events.

    Kingston town centre

The civic procession is due to leave the Guildhall at 10.45am for the war memorial. A wreath-laying service will continue until about 11.10am, followed by a service at All Saints Church from 11.30am to approximately 12.15pm.

Local contingents are then expected to assemble around the Market Place at about 12.30pm before a march past the Guildhall.

    New Malden, Surbiton and Chessington

In New Malden, the procession starts from Presburg Road at 9am. The service at the memorial outside Waitrose begins at 9.30am and is expected to finish around 10.10am.

The Surbiton procession leaves Hollyfield Road at 10.15am for the memorial outside Surbiton Library, where the service begins at 10.45am.

At Chessington War Memorial in Church Lane, representatives are due to gather at 10.55am to pay their respects and observe the national two-minute silence. The council lists the event until 11.15am.

    Check parking and road restrictions

The council says temporary traffic notices and parking suspensions apply in affected areas from 7am. Drivers with cars in those locations are asked to move them before that time. This does not mean every road closes at 7am: individual closure arrangements are set out on the event pages.

Town-centre affected routes include parts of High Street, Eden Street and Union Street, plus the Portsmouth Road cycle lane. New Malden’s listing includes Presburg Road, sections of the High Street and Blagdon Road. In Surbiton, parts of Ewell Road and Hollyfield Road are affected.

Read the relevant council listing for the exact section of road before travelling. Timings for the services and road arrangements were checked on 28 October 2026.
