Older residents are being invited to help shape local services through Kingston’s new Age Friendly Forum, which brings together the borough’s Age Friendly Ambassadors and Older People’s Forum.
The council lists the next meeting for Monday 9 November 2026 at 1.30pm, at the Richard Mayo Centre, Kingston United Reformed Church, Eden Street, KT1 1HZ.
Announcing the combined forum in September, Kingston Council said it would meet quarterly and provide a stronger platform for older people to influence its work and that of partner organisations.
A voice on everyday services
The forum’s own website describes its interests as including local transport, health and social services, care in the community, education and leisure. It welcomes people over 60 and organisations working with older residents, and says individual membership is free.
The council says existing age-friendly work has helped inform its Adult Social Care Strategy and a review of community transport. The new group is intended to develop that involvement, rather than operate as an individual care or transport service.
Residents can register interest through the forum’s website. Check the November meeting details with the organisers before travelling, as older general meeting information also remains on the site.
The council’s announcement links to Connected Kingston for local activities and support. That directory is a separate route for finding groups and services between forum meetings.
