Get ready for rides and attractions
Chessington World of Adventures Resort provides everything for the entire family in a spellbinding mix of an amusement park, aquarium, Sea Life Centre and a zoo.
There are 40 rides through the park and 1,000 animals to see. The theme park features activities for all and 90% of the rides are ideal for children under 12.
Here are the six of the smartest ways to save money while enjoying the day in the theme park:
1. Perfect Time to Visit
Chessington World of Adventures Resort offers the wildest adventure, so expect that there would always be busy days- but planning makes a difference. During peak season the park is busier on Saturdays, Sundays and school holidays. If you like a calmer day out, the best months are usually September and October.
2. Tickets and Passes
You can get discounts and save money when you book in advance online. Check the theme park’s website for special offers and early-bird discounts. They offer day tickets, annual passes, VIP packages, and other extra treats.
Tickets are available all year round but the park is only open from the 19th of March till the 9th of October 2020.
3. Parking
Parking fee is £4 and online pre-booking is possible or you may choose to pay on the day of your visit.
10% of parking charges will all be donated to the Chessington Conservation Fund that helps preserve nature and wildlife via the Chessington Zoo.
Parking is accessible on Leatherhead Street. Free parking is provided for guests who are premium Merlin Passholders and those who are booked in the hotel.
4. Plan your Trip
Take a map at the gates and select the best rides and attractions you wouldn’t want to miss.
Get the height of your little one before queueing by using the height sticks to check whether they are allowed on the ride or not.
Prepare for all weather conditions! Chessington has a Rainy Day Guarantee that will give you a free ticket on your return visit. But this is only given if it rains for more than an hour.
5. Beating queues
If you wish to enjoy your visit, arrive early in the morning and buy the Fastrack tickets. The first hour of the day is normally the best time to beat the lines. So, get on with the big and most famous rides first!
Start with the rides located at the back of the park then work your way to the front, as people would usually start with the rides and attractions they see on the front portion of the amusement park.
Chessington provides special passes for those with small children, one parent can queue up for a ride while allowing the second parent to ride without having to queue.
You may also install the useful ‘ Chessington Resort ‘ app to have easy access finding the rides with the shortest queue. It also allows you to find the nearest toilets and other amenities.
6. Free Water and Meal Deals
Carry your own water bottles into the park and fill up at many water fountains free of charge. This will save you money as well as keeping you hydrated throughout the day.
Also, do not miss checking their site for special meal deals.
